Originally hailing from New York's Eastern Long Island, Brian Lankau's quick wit and decisive nature was a perfect fit to the local community. Proud to call Acadiana home since 1989, Brian is the owner of BCL Woodworks, specializing in upscale craftsmanship of fine woodwork, furniture and trim.
Brian's first love of woodworking and evolved from a wood shop class he attended as a child in only the sixth grade. Sparks of creativity erupted, and from there he nurtured his gift through sculpture, drawing and painting. His creative nature and discriminating eye for detail was well-suited for the building industry, and he easily transitioned into construction in 1980 while completing his college education. Now firmly settled in Acadiana, Brian's custom cabinetry and trim business has grown to become highly successful in its own right, widely recognized as the premier local source for trim and cabinetry.
As a general contractor with close to a dozen houses under his belt, Brian continues to feed his passion by creating homes that not only sill the aesthetic need that today's buyers crave, but also embrace a level of quality that has become emblematic of this builder's craft. Only a brief visit to Brian's personal home today would dazzle anyone with the never-ending array of hand-whittled sculpture and organically crafted furniture, all created from judiciously selected reclaimed wood.
